BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University field hockey team began preparation for the 2018 season as the Bears reported to preseason camp on Wednesday morning and hit the turf for the first time later in the evening.
Head Coach Tia Rogers' squad opens the 2018 campaign on Monday, September 3rd when the Bears travel to Johnson & Wales University for a 3:30 game with the Wildcats. Each of the Bears' first four games of the season are on the road including the Little East Conference opener against Plymouth State University on Saturday, September 8th (noon).
Bridgewater State is ranked fifth in the Little East Field Hockey Preseason Poll which was released earlier today. The Bears tallied 89 points in the poll. Defending regular season champion Worcester State University is the preseason favorite to capture the league title as the Lancers amassed 138 points including seven of the 13 first place votes.
