Ten Bears Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Ten members of the Bridgewater State University field hockey team have been selected to the 2018 Zag Sports/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad.

The NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-2019 academic year.

Graduate student Katherine McKenna (Wilmington, Mass.), seniors Allison Chappell (Raynham, Mass.), Samantha Hayes (Norwood, Mass.), Julianne Kilduff (Bellingham, Mass.) and Alexandra Zoebisch (Plymouth, Mass.) as well as juniors Megan Bell (Littleton, Mass.) and Jaquelyn Legendre (Westport, Mass.), sophomores Kim Kowalick (Groveland, Mass.) and Meghan Welch (Hubbardston, Mass.), and freshman Victoria Camara (Westport, Mass.) all garnered the honor for Bridgewater State.

All told, 1,746 student-athletes from 147 Division III institutions earned recognition on the 2018 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. Williams College led all institutions with 23 National Academic Squad selections. Amherst College and the University of Scranton tied for the second-most with 22 selections each.
