Emma Daly Named Little East Player & Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman forward Emma Daly has been selected as both the Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Player and Rookie of the Week.

Daly tallied a pair of goals to go along with two assists for six points in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears last week. The Foxborough, Massachusetts product netted the game-winning goal and added an assist in a key 4-2 conference win on the road over Eastern Connecticut State University as the Bears clinched a spot in the upcoming Little East Tournament. Daly also registered a goal and an assist in a 7-4 victory over Johnson & Wales University.

In 15 games this season, including 11 starts, Daly has registered seven goals and three assists for 17 points. She ranks second on the team in both goals and points and is tied for fourth in assists.

The Bridgewater State field hockey team is currently 7-8 on the season and tied for seventh place in the Little East standings with a 5-6 conference mark. Winners of three straight games, the Bears host non-conference foe Wheaton College on Wednesday night at seven before taking on second-seeded Keene State College in the opening round of the 2017 Little East Tournament on Saturday afternoon at two.
