Allison Chappell Named Little East Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore Allison Chappell has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week.

Chappell posted a perfect 2-0 record between the pipes for the Bears last week with nine saves and a 0.67 goals against average. The Raynham, Massachusetts product turned aside eight shots in a 3-1 LEC win over Fitchburg State, and made one save over 35 minutes of action in a 7-0 shutout victory over conference foe Framingham State.

Through seven games this season, Chappell has produced a win-loss record of 5-2 with 37 saves, a 2.07 goals against average and a .725 save percentage. She is tied for third in the Little East in wins and ranks seventh in goals against average.

In ten games over her first two seasons with the Bears, Chappell is 6-3 with 1 1/2 shutouts and a 1.89 goals against average. She also has 53 saves and a career .746 save percentage.

The BSU field hockey team is currently 5-2 on the season and 3-2 in the Little East standings. The Bears travel to Worcester State University on Wednesday evening for a seven o'clock conference game with the Lancers.
