BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior placekicker Jacob Crear has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Football Special Teams Player of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.
Crear booted a 25-yard field goal and was a perfect 4-for-4 in extra point conversions in the Bears’ 31-14 MASCAC win on the road over Westfield State University on Saturday.
Through five games this season, Crear is 2-for-4 in field goal attempts and 10-for-12 in point after tries. He is also averaging 49.1 yards on seven kickoffs.
The BSU football team is currently 3-2 on the season and 2-1 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain defending conference champion Plymouth State University on Friday night at seven.
