BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University football team began preparations for the 2016 season as over 100 players reported to preseason camp on Wednesday morning and hit the practice field for the first time later in the afternoon.

Head Coach Joe Verria's Bears open the 2016 campaign on Friday night, September 2nd on the road against non-conference foe Curry College. Kick-off is slated for 7:00 PM.

Following their home opener against Kean University on Saturday, September 10th at noon, the Bears open Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play at Worcester State University on Saturday, September 17th at 1:00 PM.

Once again, the season culminates with the annual Cranberry Bowl game against MASCAC rival Mass. Maritime Academy. The 38th version of the Cranberry Bowl will take place at Swenson Field on Saturday, November 12th at noon.
