David Fouracre



Assistant Coach-Pitching





David Fouracre is entering his third season on the Bridgewater State College baseball coaching staff as he will be handling the pitching coach duties once again.

Fouracre coached for 32 years at the high school level beginning as a junior varsity and freshman coach at Brockton High School from 1974 to 1981.  In 1982 he became the head varsity coach at Oliver Ames High School in Easton, Mass where he spent the next six years before returning to Brockton as the head varsity coach in 1988.  Dave would coach the Boxers for the next 18 seasons posting a record of 237-151.

All told in his 32 years of coaching high school ball Dave won 410 games, coached 14 Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic ball players, and directed his teams to 7 league titles and 14 state tournament appearances.  In 1997, his Brockton Boxer squad won the Massachusetts Division I State Championship and was honored by the Bosox Club as the New England High School Team of the Year.  Of the players he coached, 118 went on to play at the collegiate level and 6 were selected in the Major League Baseball annual draft.

Dave was elected to the Brockton High School Hall of Fame in 2006 and he was also a 2003 inductee into the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association (MBCA) Hall of Fame. He is a member of the 200 victory club in the MBCA as well as the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), and three times during his coaching career he was selected to coach the South All-Star Team (1990, 1997 and 2005)..

Coach Fouracre has been a member of the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association (MBCA) since 1975 and a member of both the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) since 1994.

Most recently, Dave was a pitching coach for the Lowell All-Americans in the New England College Baseball League (NECBL) during the summer.  This past spring he was a pitching coach at Curry College as he helped the Colonels advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first team in team history.   

A veteran of the United State Air Force and a retired Brockton school teacher, Dave presently resides in the town of West Bridgewater with his wife of 39 years, Cheryl.  They have two sons, Brendan and Blake, as well as two grandchildren, Kelsie and Elsa.
