Ryan Kelleher Named MASCAC Baseball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior center fielder Ryan Kelleher has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Player of the Week.

A native of Danvers, Massachusetts, Kelleher batted a sizzling .688 (11-16) with a home run, a double, four RBI and six runs scored in four games for the Bears last week in Vero Beach, Florida. He also recorded a .667 on base percentage and a .938 slugging percentage.

Kelleher went 7-for-9 at the plate with a home run, a stolen base, four runs and a pair of RBI in a doubleheader split with Hilbert College. The home run marked his first in a BSU uniform. He was also 4-for-7 with a double, a walk, two runs and two RBI in a pair of games against The Apprentice School.

In 32 games over two seasons with the Bears, Kelleher is batting .376 (35-93) with four doubles, a home run, 16 runs scored and 17 driven in. He has a career .452 slugging percentage and a career .416 on base percentage.

The BSU baseball team is currently 1-3 on the young season. The Florida swing continues for the Bears on Tuesday when they take on the University of Northwestern (Minn.) in a doubleheader starting at 11:00 AM.
