Brad Koneski to Play in NEIBA College All-Star Game

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Senior second baseman Brad Koneski will represent the Bridgewater State College Bears at the 35th Annual New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) College All-Star Game at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton on Thursday, June 4th.
A native of North Dighton, Koneski batted .371 this season for the Bears with two home runs and 25 runs batted in. He also scored 44 runs, added 11 doubles and was a perfect 32-for-32 in stolen base attempts.
Koneski's 32 steals this season ties him with Ed Grueter for second place in the BSC record books. Jason Arraiol holds the Bears' single-season mark with 37 thefts in 2003. Koneski is also third all-time at Bridgewater in career stolen bases with 71.
Koneski finished second in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in stolen bases, and ranked third in runs scored, sixth in doubles and eighth in on base percentage.
In 131 games over four seasons at BSC, Koneski batted .307 with four homers, 33 doubles, 125 runs scored and 64 RBI. He set career highs this season in batting average, runs scored, doubles, runs batted in, stolen bases, on base percentage and slugging percentage (.540).
Koneski captured All-MASCAC honors for the first time in his career as he was voted to the second team by the conference coaches.
The College Division team, made up of All-New England Division II players and New England Division III Senior All-Stars, will face the University Division squad consisting of Division I All-New England First and Second Team players. The game is expected to start at approximately 7:00 PM.
The College Division team won last year's game, 6-3, but trail in the all-time series, 11-22-1. The 1981 game was played East vs. West.
The last representative for BSC at the College All-Star Game was outfielder Steve Smith in 2008.
