Brendon Elliot Named MASCAC Baseball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - Bridgewater State College senior outfielder Brendon Elliot has been named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Player of the Week.
Elliot batted .615 (16-for-26) with three doubles, a triple, four home runs, five stolen bases, 11 runs scored and 22 RBI in 6-2 week for Bears.
The Brockton, Massachusetts native hit for the cycle and drove in eight runs in an 18-8 victory over UMass Dartmouth as BSC Head Coach Rick Smith garnered his 400th career coaching victory.
Elliot also went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, three runs and four RBI in a 10-1 triumph at MCLA, and was 5-for-7 with two homers, a double, five runs scored and nine RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Becker College.
In 25 games this season, Elliot is batting .419 with seven home runs, nine doubles, four triples, 28 runs scored and 41 runs batted in. He is currently tied for second in the MASCAC in triples and RBI, and tied for fourth in home runs and total bases (74).
The Bridgewater State baseball team wrapped up the regular season with a record of 23-14 including a 10-4 mark in MASCAC play. The Bears are seeded second in the conference tournament and will host third-seeded MCLA on Thursday afternoon at 3 PM.
