Dana Hansen Named MASCAC Baseball Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College senior designated hitter Dana Hansen has been named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Player of the Week.

A native of Hanover, Massachusetts, Hansen batted .615 (8 for 13) in four games for the Bears last week with a double, a triple, a home run, six runs batted in, three runs scored and a .688 on-base percentage.

Hansen went 4-for-6 with a triple and two RBI in a doubleheader split with Salem State. He was also 4-for-4 with a double, a home run and four runs batted in as the Bears knocked off UMass-Boston, 19-4.

In 14 games this season, Hansen is batting .386 (17-for-44) with a home run, a triple, five doubles, 13 RBI and six runs scored. His .614 slugging percentage ranks him second on the team, and he is tied for third in both doubles and runs batted in.

Bridgewater State is currently 11-5 on the season and 2-2 in the MASCAC standings.  The Bears have a pair of non-conference games coming up on the road this week against Wheaton and Brandeis, followed by a MASCAC twinbill at Framingham State on Saturday.
