Martin Anderson Named MASCAC Pitcher of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second consecutive week Bridgewater State College senior righthander Martin Anderson has been selected as the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Pitcher of the Week.

Anderson hurled his third straight gem against a MASCAC team, as he allowed just one unearned run in 7.1 innings of work in the Bears' 3-1 win over Framingham State. Anderson struck out 10 batters, did not issue a walk and scattered just four hits.

A native of Meriden, Connecticut, Anderson is 3-0 in his last three starts (all against MASCAC teams) with a 0.00 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 21.1 innings of work.

Anderson currently leads the MASCAC in earned run average (0.79), batting average against (.214) and strikeouts (37).  He is also fourth in the conference in innings pitched (34.0), tied for fourth in wins (3) and tied for fifth in games started (5).
