LGBT History Month Keynote Speaker: Dave Pallone

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Former Major League Baseball umpire, Dave Pallone, will be speaking at Bridgewater State University on Thursday, October 7th in the RCC Auditorium from 7 to 9 PM.

Dave worked 18 years as a professional umpire; 10 of those years in the National League. As the third youngest umpire in baseball history, he demonstrated courage, professionalism and the ability to withstand adversity through many of baseball’s high profile and controversial events.

Dave is the author of the 1990 New York Time’s best-selling autobiography, Behind the Mask: My Double Life in Baseball, which has been re-released in recognition of it’s 20th anniversary.  Since its publication, Dave has dedicated his life to educating and enlightening people about the reality of sexual orientation.

Dave has brought his acclaimed presentations, Who's Really on First and The Best Seat in the House But You Have to Stand, to conferences as a keynote speaker, as a diversity trainer on sexual orientation for corporations, and to hundreds of college campuses to their students, athletic departments, and staffs.

The event is sponsored by the Bridgewater State Department of Athletics and the GLBTA Pride Center.  For more information visit www.bridgew.edu/GLBTA/calendar.cfm.
