Bear T.R.A.C.K.S Model Teammate Award - Catatina Rosa Women's Tennis

Women's Tennis was unanimously excited to award senior Catarina Rosa the 2009 Model Teammate Award. Teammates agree that, "Catarina Rosa has contributed so much to our team. Time and time again she's been the deciding factor in the win or lose for our team. She's consistent and affects all the girls around her. Her ability to make people laugh, feel like they belong, and that they're part of a team are just some of the qualities that have made her a vital asset to our team."

Head coach Barry Gorman couldn't agree more. "Catarina Rosa has a work ethic and intensity that enhances the play of all players around her. She is one of the most competitive players that I have ever seen. She is the player that you want out on the court when the match is in question. Three phrases that come to mind when Catarina is mentioned are "a fighter", "a fearless player", and "incredibly mentally tough".

Bear T.R.A.C.K.S.  (Teaching Responsible Athletes Challenging Knowledge through Service) is an NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills program established to bring all BSC student-athletes and teams together in support of each other. The committee is made up of approximately 45 student-athletes with the common goal of planning and implementing events that will bring the student-athletes together to foster a sense of pride, positive self-esteem and support for one another.
