BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Eight-Five Bridgewater State University student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) with selection to the league’s Fall 2011 All-Academic Team that was released by MASCAC Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Student-athletes that compete in championship varsity sports offered by each of the eight MASCAC institutions during the course of the recently completed fall 2011 academic semester and have achieved a 3.20 cumulative or semester-based grade point average during the semester are eligible for selection to the Fall All-Academic Team.

“I am proud of the continued effort that our student-athletes put into their class work on a daily basis,” said Bridgewater State Director of Athletics, John Harper.

“Only through academic success can a student earn the opportunity to be a student-athlete on one of our teams,” Harper added.  “As a department we will continue to strive for successful students and winning teams.”

Westfield State University placed the most student-athletes on the Fall 2011 MASCAC All-Academic Team with 102, while Bridgewater State and Worcester State University (66) followed.
