BSU & Delete Blood Cancer  Host Bone Marrow Donor Registration Drive

WHO: Delete Blood Cancer, a global organization that leads the fight to eradicate blood cancer by empowering people to take action, give bone marrow and save lives. With over 3.5 million registered bone marrow donors worldwide, Delete Blood Cancer is the largest bone marrow donor center in the world. Bridgewater State University student-athletes and members of the Interfraternity Council are helping Delete Blood Cancer by hosting a bone marrow donor registration drive.

WHAT: On Thursday, October 23rd, Bridgewater State University student-athletes and members of the Interfraternity Council will host a bone marrow donor registration drive for students and local residents.

Volunteers trained by Delete Blood Cancer will be onsite to help participants fill out an information/consent form and swab the inside of their cheeks for tissue typing to help find a potential match for a patient in need. There is no fee to sign up, anyone between the ages of 18 to 55 can participate and the process is painless and takes less than five minutes.
