Men's Hockey Closes Out First Half

Men's Hockey Closes Out First Half

Bridgewater, MA

With more than half of their games completed, the Bridgewater State Men’s Ice Hockey Club heads into the holiday break with a record of 8-7-1 overall. Playing a strong schedule, the Bears have struggled as of late, dropping four of their last five, with three being on the road. Despite their recent challenges, they still find themselves in the middle of the pack, with a good chance to rebound next month and make a push for the top of the Northeast, Men’s D2 ACHA standings.

Freshman, Tayber Labonte is leading the way with 15 points on 7 goals and 8 assists. With Corey Woodward (13 pts), Tom Martin (12 pts), Cody Perry (11 pts) and Mike Jessman (10 pts) chipping in along the way. Goaltender’s Christian Cellini (6-6, 89.9% save pct) and Joe Vinay (2-1, 89.4% save pct) have both seen time between the pipes throughout the season.

The Bears will have six games remaining after the break, with two being at home on Saturday and Sunday, January 26th and 27th respectively. They will host Bryan University at 5:40pm on Saturday and Central Maine on Sunday at 2:30pm. Home games are played at Bridgewater Ice Arena and tickets are cash only at the door.
