SCHOOL-AGE LEARN TO SWIM and PRIVATE LESSONS

SUMMER 2009 SWIM LESSONS MAKE UP INFORMATION

7/30/2009

Dear Swim Lesson Parents:

The Moriarty pool staff at Bridgewater State College would like to apologize for any inconvenience due to the unforeseen closure of Moriarty pool after a mechanical pump break down last week.   It is always difficult when a mechanical piece that is critical to the pool operation fails.  Thanks to the good work of our plumbers and other facility workers, the down time was way less than it might have otherwise been.

It is our goal to make sure that you receive value for the money that you paid for your lessons.  With this in mind we have three options for you to consider.

OPTION #1:  If you would like to make up lessons....please sign up on-line below.  We have several make up options for you to consider.   The more flexible that you can be with days and times, the more likely that this will be an option for you.  Session #2 patrons have three lessons to make up; session #3 patrons have two lessons to make up.  Please consider 11:15 AM as an option as it is generally wide open.

NOTE:  PRESCHOOL PATRONS NEED ONLY SHOW UP ON ANY OF THE FOLLOWING DAYS AT 10:30 AM...NO NEED TO DO ANYTHING ELSE!  AUGUST 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12

OPTION #2:  We are offering two free open swims for every lesson missed to compensate you for the missed lessons in lieu of make up classes.  This is a $10 value compared to the $7 that you paid for lessons.  If your session had two lessons missed, we would give you four open swims for each child--if you were in session #2 and missed three lessons, we would give you six open swims.  We offer open swims during the school-year from 7:00-9:00 PM, so it might be a nice option on a Family Friday night.  If you want this option, simply email me at john.pringle@bridgew.edu and I will send you your free passes via email.

OPTION #3:  We can refund the $21 or $14 that you have coming for session #2 and #3, or if you did not come to lessons at all for session #3, but paid for it, we can refund the entire enrollment fee.  What we need from you in order to make this happen is a letter addressed to John Pringle stating the reason that you misssed lessons and how many you missed (i.e. 2 lessons, or 10 lessons depending on your situation).  Include a copy of the canceled check that you paid with in the letter.  Mail the request to BSC Aquatics Attention:  John, Tinsley Center, 325 Plymouth Street, Bridgewater, MA 02325.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience and we hope to see you at the pool again soon.  As always, if you need to speak with me, please feel free to email me or call me at (508) 531-2327.

Sincerely,

John Pringle
BSC Director of Aquatics
BSC Head Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Coach

SUMMER SESSION 2009 LEVELS AND CLASS TIMES!!

 Class Schedule Click Here!

Registration:    Online beginning June 2nd, 2009 at 9:00 AM! (see bottom of page)

Swim Lessons are offered five days per week, Monday through Friday and encompass all ten levels of the American Swim Coaches Association's "Swim America" program.  Time periods begin at 8:15 A.M. according to levels.  Please consult the level and time page for exact times and levels.  Children must have completed kindergarten to be eligible.  All instructors are certified by the American Swim Coaches Association and are on deck or in the water with their class at all times.  Certified lifeguards are also on deck.

On-line registration will be held beginning June 2nd at 9:00 AM and will continue through the 1st class of the 4th session.  Please fill out the emergency form available on-line and mail in with your payment.  Be sure to fill out the form completely and accurately.  Your registration is not complete until the form and appropriate payment are received.  An information night will be available for all of BSC Receration's summer programs on Saturday, June 20th from 2:00-4:00 PM, and Tuesday, June 23rd from 6:00-8:00 PM.  They will both be held at the Tinsley Center with a tour to Kelly Gym to view the aquatics facility if desired.

Parking:

Parking at BSC will be different this year compared to past years due to the construction going on on the back-side of Kelly Gym and the pool.  Parking for all swimming activities will be available only in the Lower Great Hill lot on the opposite side of the "T" tracks.  A longer walk to the pool will be necessary so plan ahead to arrive a few minutes earlier.  Parking passes will be provided to you via mail upon receipt of your check and emergency form following on-line registration.  Persons failing to comply with parking guidelines may be fined by BSC police.
